Give “Heroes Without Capes” Special Recognition at Your Facility
One of our newest eSoft Planner clients is doing something special at their sports facility. It’s a great idea that promotes a sense of community and also helps out their local citizens. So, I wanted to share it with you.
The Athletic Edge, a new sports facility in Tunnel Hill, Georgia is offering a discount for firefighters, police officers, and other public servants. Any client that The Athletic Edge staff places in a group called “Heroes Without Capes” automatically gets 10% off classes, rentals and lessons. eSoft Planner changes the prices in the system automatically. Then, the staff doesn’t have to do any extra work. In addition, the system calculates the updated prices in all the facility’s financial reports.
Co-owner Dawn Johnson says that they were inspired to develop the discount by a friend who did a special photography project showcasing local heroes called “Not All Wear Capes.”
“We try to give back to the community as much as we can,” Johnson said. The facility also runs a year-round fundraiser for schools in which schools receive money for each student that trains at the facility. In addition, Johnson also has other plans in the works to partner with non-profits to help kids.
As I’ve mentioned before, volunteering is the right thing to do. Also, it has unexpected benefits for promoting your sports facility. We’re happy to see that The Athletic Edge is getting started the right way.
