A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of traveling to North Carolina to check out the newest sports facility on the scene: Champions Sports Performance & Training Center in the Lake Norman area. Champions offers personal training and fitness classes for adults that focus on adult functional training, as well as speed and agility programming geared toward athletes of all ages.
Established Marketing Niche
Owner Greg O’Connor and his team are doing a great job establishing a market niche for themselves. One of their best moves right off the bat was to direct their marketing efforts toward two distinct areas: sports training and adult conditioning. The people who are interested in these two programs typically have very different interests and goals. So, it makes sense to create and brand the programming for them in ways that target their needs. The home page of Champions Sports Performance & Training Center’s web site prompts visitors to choose either “Adult Training” or “Sports Performance” immediately. From there, the site takes visitors to separate pages that detail all the programming available.
Champions’ web site already features prominent links to their Facebook page. There, fans can stay connected to a steady stream of relevant information. Champions is also an eSoft Planner client, so customers can register and pay for classes and memberships online and at their convenience from a link on www.ChampionsSportsPerformance.com.
A Successful Product
However, the most important part of any successful sports facility is a product that provides real results and keeps clients coming back. As the local home of the Parisi Speed School in the Lake Norman / Cornelius, NC area, Champions has ensured that they are providing a quality product. Parisi Speed School has 60 locations across the country that are dedicated to teaching the youth of America how to increase athleticism and reduce risk of injury. I know it’s an excellent program because I also own a Parisi Speed School franchise at DNA Sports Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. There, I have seen the results of its programming in my own kids.
